Festicket launches live streaming platform: Festicket Live
Festicket has launched a new live streaming platform called Festicket Live, which will allow music fans to watch and engage with artists direct from their home.
The new platform – in partnership with YouTube and Vimeo – will allow artists or event promoters to set up their own customisable and unique streaming page, which will include the embedded live stream, webchat, links to social media profiles, and the option to include a shop for either donations, merchandise, or more.
Festicket Live will have the ability to host free, but also ticketed live streams. The latter will combine Festicket’s advanced ticketing technology, marketing weight and real-time analytics to provide artists and promoters with a valuable source of revenue during these uncertain times. If ticketed, the streams will be secure and behind a paywall linked to a customer’s Festicket account, which will be limited to one concurrent session per logged-in user.
Festicket Live is compatible with streaming tools such as Streamlabs or OBS, giving artists or promoters a simple plug-in setup.
The recent months have seen a huge rise in live streaming as people look for alternative forms of entertainment during the worldwide lockdown, and artists seek for ways to continue to engage with their fans. The majority of these streams have so far been on either YouTube or Facebook, but following feedback from fans and artists, Festicket believes both will begin to desire a more engaging streaming platform with additional features.
A recent Festicket survey of over 11,000 festival-goers found that 60% would consider buying a ticket to a live stream, either via a typical ticket or by donation. At the same time artists and promoters are looking for new revenue streams while the lockdown continues. Festicket Live provides them with a scalable platform to deliver unique experiences to their fans, while also providing the opportunity to open up a new revenue stream.
On the launch of Festicket Live, Festicket’s Marketing Director Luis Sousa says: “The past weeks and months have seen a dramatic shift to online streaming, with over 60% of our customers saying they had watched a live stream since the lockdown began.
“We see this trend continuing, and possibly even remaining once physical festivals and events begin to return. We therefore wanted to offer music fans a platform that allows them to engage with the artists and festivals they love, while also providing artists and promoters with a new revenue stream considering the pressures the industry is currently under.”
